To be smart with money you need to be smart with the choices you make.
Question: What if you don’t even realize you have a choice?? Most of us are not aware of the choices we have & make on a daily basis.
The reason we don’t SEE the choices is because we are in the HABIT of making the same choices over & over again. But there is a choice!
To be smart with money is a choice!
Our habits are a product of our belief system. They say that by the time we are age 4, 50% of our belief system about the world is in place. By the time we’re 8 years old, it’s 80% and by the time we’re 18 years old, a whopping 95% of our belief system is in place. Another question: are you happy with the source of the information that put your beliefs in there?
The study of Psycho Cybernetics is fascinating. A cybernetic mechanism is, simplistically put – a self correcting mechanism. Think of a thermostat on a refrigerator or an auto pilot on a plane.
Our mind also has a cybernetic mechanism. It makes us – usually without conscious thought – drift back to our comfort zone. But the comfort zone can be a dangerous place. One reason is that it’s usually not so much comfortable, as familiar. Another reason is that usually if you’re not moving forward in life, you’re actually slipping backward.
A first step in changing some of these things we do unconsciously due to our belief systems & old habits is simply to become aware of them. Just observe them, shine a light! That alone will make a HUGE difference.
Realize that you DO have a choice.
If you never do anything to learn a new skill – even something as simple as budgeting – realize that you can! If you smoke and blow a whole bunch of money on damaging your health & lowering your energy & fitness – realize that you can stop! If you constantly buy stuff you don’t really need & later regret it – realize you don’t need to! If you never manage to save any money – realize that you can start now!
To be smart with money, start looking at everything as a choice.
Make a list of your priorities when it comes to where your money goes: entertainment, annual holidays, paying off debt, creating wealth, buying stuff etc etc
Then decide where you will choose to spend your money.
When teaching you how to prepare a budget part of the step-by-step process is learning to make choices as to where you will allocate your money. You consciously look at each item & decide which purpose has a higher priority for you
By making it a simple to follow step-by-step process it becomes quite easy to do. Once that’s set up, you then need to stick with it:
long enough for it to become a new habitto be able to reap the rewards
Make sure you get help & support to help you stick with it & help you stay motivated. You’ll be so happy you did.
So learn how to be money smart – make smart choices! It’s easy once you know how.
Have a fantastically prosperous day!

You see, nobody ever really teaches us anything about money management! So most people just ‘wing it’, hoping they manage to pay all their bills and maybe even accumulate some savings along the way. How much or little they earn often has nothing to do with their financial success!
